History
 Alvin and Felix Stehling had this building built in 1915 to house their combination menswear clothing store and dry cleaners downstairs. The upstairs was designed to be a boarding house. It is located in the middle of the central shopping block of the Hauptstrasse (Main Street).
The menswear/dry cleaners stayed in continuous service to this German Immigrant community for 83 years. The boarding house upstairs was closed in about 1942. The upstairs was then used for storage until 1998 when it was remodeled by Ron and Donna Maddux into Alte Welt Gasthof. Alte Welt Gasthof is German for Old World Inn.
